Information About the Family Class

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) knows it is important to help families who come from other countries to reunite in Canada. If you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, dependent child (including adopted child) or other eligible relative (such as a parent or grandparent) to become a permanent resident.

CIC refers to the immigrants who are eligible to use this family sponsoring process as the Family Class.

To sponsor a spouse or common-law partner

If you are living in Canada with a spouse or common-law partner and wish to support his or her application to immigrate as a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class, you must first sponsor him or her for immigration. Sponsoring a parent or grandparent

If you would like to sponsor your parents or grandparents to immigrate to Canada, you must complete an application to sponsor, promising to support your parents or grandparents. You must sign an undertaking with the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration promising to provide financial support for their basic requirements and those of their family members immigrating to Canada with them.

The first steps to immigration

    Fill out our detailed questionnaire and return it to our office together with the required documents.  The more complete and detailed the information you send us, the better we can assess your chances for successful immigration.

     

  • Step 3 - Assessment and decision

    We will evaluate your education, work experience and documents according to provincial and federal immigration program requirements and according to our experience.  We will share with you our informed opinion regarding the potential for success of your application.  Should you decide to engage our services we can then begin the application process together.
